Cam Wright
State House – District 46

Cam Wright is a 30-year military veteran who retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after service in the Navy and Air Force. He spent more than two decades as a University of Wyoming engineering professor and former dean of the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences. He and his wife have lived in Albany County for over 23 years and raised their son here.
He defeated the incumbent in the Republican primary for House District 46 on August 18, 2026, and is running to bring steady experience to Cheyenne.
Wyoming families feel the pressure of a changing economy and too many young people leave for opportunity. Cam will work to attract new industries, support entrepreneurs, and create high-quality jobs so more graduates can build careers and raise families in the state.
He supports strong K-12 schools, school choice, career and technical education, and a solid University of Wyoming and community college system that prepare students for the work Wyoming needs.
Core industries—energy, agriculture, mining, tourism, and small business—power the state. Cam will strengthen them while encouraging practical new opportunities.
Wyoming’s public lands must stay accessible for responsible use and carefully stewarded for the next generation. He is a lifelong defender of the Second Amendment and private property rights.
Cam Wright has spent a career solving complex problems in uniform and in the classroom. He will take that same focus to the House and keep District 46’s voice practical and local.
