Tomorrow -Tuesday is Election Day: Let's Protect Our Homes and Empower Parents in District 13
Dear Albany County Republicans,
The general election this Tuesday, November 3rd, is a defining moment for the future of our state and our community. As your candidate for House District 13, I am asking for your vote to bring common sense, accountability, and true conservative values back to Cheyenne and Laramie. Today, I want to talk directly to you about two of the most critical issues on our ballot: defending our families from skyrocketing taxes and protecting our fundamental rights as parents.
Wyoming families and seniors should never be taxed out of the homes they worked a lifetime to earn. As I detailed in the "Shane on Proposition 1 videos", I am urging everyone to vote YES on Proposition 1. This citizen-initiated measure establishes a property tax exemption for your primary residence and would reduce your total property tax burden by half. When bureaucrats claim that capping taxes will hurt essential services, the answer is simple: the government must learn to live within its means, audit its budget, and cut out the waste. We are going to fund our first responders and classrooms, but we will do it by stripping away bureaucratic fat, not by endlessly squeezing homeowners.
Equally important is our fight for educational freedom. As I expressed in "Shane on School Choice videos," I believe that parents—not a bureaucracy in Cheyenne or Washington, D.C.—are the ultimate authority when it comes to their children's education. I am here to represent YOU and YOUR VOICE. Your tax dollars should fund students, not systems. Special interest groups like the Wyoming Education Association are pouring resources into fighting school choice and trying to use our kids as political pawns. My platform is classrooms over bureaucracy. We will defend a parent's right to choose the best educational environment for their child, whether that is a local public school, a private school, or homeschooling.
We don't need the government telling you how to raise your kids, and we certainly should not have to forever rent our sanctuaries from the government. We need to put the power, resources, and discretion back exactly where it belongs: in your hands.
Election Day is this Tuesday, November 3rd. Please remind your friends, family, and neighbors in House District 13 to get to the polls and make their voices heard.
